An engagement survey, often called an employee survey, or employee sensing survey, refers to a survey that is offered to an entire organization to gauge employee opinions on a variety of organizational factors. These types of surveys help clients to identify areas of strength and weakness.

Exit Interview
An exit interview is a post-employment survey that is used to solicit employee opinions about their experience with the company. Industry best-practices indicate the use of question templates allowing for statistical scoring as well as verbatim responses for the questions asked. These surveys take place prior to the employee’s departure, or shortly thereafter.
Post-Exit Interview
A post-exit interview satisfies the school of thought that dictates an exit interview should be completed following an initial “cooling-off” periods for departing employees. This type of exit interview is generally completed three (3) to six (6) months following the departure and may focus more on employee opinions with their new employer in relation to their previous employment.
